GW Construction offers our customers 90+ years of construction and welding experience. We strive to furnish ethical, conscientious and quality craftsmanship. We have fabricated product transportation systems for a wide variety of petro-chemical facilities. GW Construction maintains a safe, competent and knowledgeable workforce capable of completing projects within our area of operations. We have comprehensive safety, MSDS, confined space, hot work, lockout/tagout, fall protection and DOT drug testing policies in place. Employees are required to actively participate in these programs.
The officers of GW Construction, Inc. employ a “hands-on” approach to projects and are always available to the customer representative. This approach quickly identifies potential problems and minimizes “down time”.
Steve Whitehead has 35 years experience in the construction and welding industry. He has been employed as a project manager, piping inspector, foreman and welder for petroleum, construction and pipeline companies. He was the owner/operator of a sole proprietor construction company for 10 years. He has experience inspecting and constructing piping within the petroleum field, including exploration, pipelines, refinery and terminals.
Russell Whitehead joined GW Construction in 2003 as general manager. He has 10 years experience in the petro-chemical industry with WellTech, SWS and the Halliburton companies. He is a CPA and also manages projects and estimating.
Christopher Whitehead, the safety and compliance manager, has 20 years in the petroleum industry. He has also been employed as a pipefitter, is licensed as a boiler and pressure vessel inspector with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and worked in operations with a major oil refiner for 11 years.
Larry Greer retired from GW Construction in 2001, but still acts in the capacity of consultant and foreman when required. Larry has 30 years experience in the construction and welding industry. He was employed as a general foreman and welder with Boyd Construction. He was the senior partner of G&N Mechanical Contracting prior to assuming his position at GW. Larry has constructed various piping systems and is knowledgeable with pumps, meters, loading facilities and blending systems for gasoline, asphalt and chemical terminals.
The foremen for GW Construction have been with the company since inception. They have a combined 60+ years experience in the pipe welding and petro-chemical industry.
Our customer base has included work for Marathon-Ashland Petroleum, Ashland Petroleum, Citgo, BP, Conoco, Phillips Petroleum, Williams Natural Gas,El PasoNatural Gas, Texas Eastern Pipeline Company, Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company, Shelly & Sands, Koch Oil, Tanco Terminals and Terry Materials Company.
